How to get involved outside of Mohican:

Please support the mission outreach of our church with your prayers. You can also pray for the individuals from our church that work with these organizations. To learn more about the organizations & how you can further serve them, please click the icons below.

Destiny Rescue exists to rescue, restore, protect, empower, and be a voice for the voiceless. Their vision is to see the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children end in our lifetime.

Voice of the Martyrs serves persecuted Christians through practical & spiritual assistance while leading other members of the Body of Christ into fellowship with them. 

Christian Education has provided release time Bible education for 70 years at the Norwayne & Northwestern school districts. The program is for grades K-8. 

Haven of Rest Ministries offers life-changing programs of love & compassion that respond to the physical, emotional & spiritual needs of men, women and children in the greater-Akron area. 

APCC offers compassion, hope, & help to women & men facing critical pregnancy decisions by equipping them with resources & empowering families to live life according to God’s plan. 

Wycliffe Bible Translators helps churches and communities around the world get Scripture in their language & they will not stop their efforts until all the nations worship!

 

JAARS enables locally appropriate & sustainable solutions in transportation, technology, media, and training to make Bible translation & language development possible, especially in the most remote & difficult places on earth.

Samaritan’s Purse  promotes the Gospel while providing spiritual & physical aid to hurting people around the world. They meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine. 

Operation Christmas Child is a part of Samaritan’s Purse Ministries. They provide a shoebox full of gifts and the gospel to children around the world, often reaching many more with the gospel.  

The Grocery Bag Ministry is a ministry of Mohican Church We serve local families every month offering them food and the Word of God at every distribution. Please contact the church if you would like to donate something.

Here at Mohican, we have a wonderful partnership with Pastor Eric Fairhurst at Westview Healthy Living in Wooster, OH. They are always looking for volunteers within their Assisted Living program! The following list reflects current and/or desired volunteer service activities for the Assisted Living population of West View Healthy Living.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Helpful visits (one-on-one/small groups)
Game-playing (cards, puzzles, board games, etc…)
Sunday Chapel @ 2pm (transporting, assisting, welcoming, Ministering the Bible, prayer, and song)
Wednesday Chapel @ 10:45am (same as above)
Light, fun exercise (usually requires some basic knowledge of safe, passive activity for chair-bound)
Scheduled activity transport of wheel chair-bound Residents
Music performance
Reading aloud to individuals/groups (possible facilitation of Book Clubs)
Drama
Decorating
Light clerical/administrative duties
Popcorn making/distribution
Ice Cream servers
Hand massages/ladies’ nails
Strolls inside and in safe outside areas.
Outside work of cleaning up, preparing, planting, and maintaining courtyard landscape/floral spaces
Accompanying and assisting with short, area bus trips

Understanding that not all elements listed will be desirable or applicable to each Volunteer, WVHL invites potential Volunteers to best utilize their gifts, talents, and passions with their Residents within the parameters of respect and safety required in our Community. They also acknowledge this is a basic list and invite creative suggestions for further life-enrichment.
